Beginning in the fall of 2025, we will be welcoming Dr. Andrew Sumnicht as the new lead provider at our clinic. Dr. Sumnicht is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced training in cataract surgery and a deep commitment to personalized, patient-focused care. His experience and values make him a wonderful addition to our team and community.
Dr. Sumnicht will be seeing patients throughout the week and will be taking over as the primary cataract surgeon for the practice. As part of this transition, Dr. Swedberg will step away from performing cataract surgeries, but will continue to see patients on Tuesdays and perform lid surgeries, allowing many of you to continue your ongoing care with him if you wish.
While our location and contact information will remain the same, you’ll begin to see our name and branding transition to Sumnicht Eye Care in the coming months.
To help you get to know Dr. Sumnicht, we warmly invite you to an open house on Thursday, October 23rd, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. This will be a great opportunity to meet him, ask questions, and help us celebrate this exciting new chapter together.
Swedberg Eye Care offers a full spectrum of general, medical, and surgical ophthalmology services.
During every eye examination, we look for eye diseases, measure eye pressure, and measure visual acuity before prescribing eyeglasses, or eye medication.
In addition to General Ophthalmology Swedberg Eye Care offers surgical management of cataracts and common oculoplastic conditions.
Our doctors screen and care for patients with cataracts and glaucoma, and can schedule cataract surgery and glaucoma laser surgery in-office if needed.
Swedberg Eye Care can provide you an updated glasses prescription! For patients seeking updated lens prescriptions, our clinicians and trained ophthalmic technicians are available to provide primary vision care.

Since we do not have an optical shop we are not in network with vision insurance plans. All refractions are considered an out-of-pocket expense due at time of service. We do not provide prescriptions for contacts at this time.
Though we do not carry glasses or contacts, we have an excellent local network of quality opticians! We are happy to partner with College Place Optical, Sherman Optical, and Kay's Optical for your optical needs including low vision tools!
