He is a past president of the Washington Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons.

His practice has been largely with the elderly adult population but he enjoys seeing patients of all ages, including children. As part of his professional career he has been on multiple overseas mission trips with the Lions In Sight group. These clinics help those without access to vision care or glasses obtain care.
As an associate to Dr. Swedberg, Dr. Riggs provides comprehensive eye health exams and refractive services. To best meet our patient’s needs, Dr. Riggs works closely with Dr. Swedberg providing co-managed medical care when necessary and communicating with your family physician or other health-care providers to ensure complete eye health management.
His personal interests include bicycling, vintage bike events, knife making, gardening, and fountain pens. He has been a certified Patches Pal since 1962!

Lynn Girdlestone, COA, OSA, OSC
Lynn joined the practice in Summer of 2021 She is a California native with 19 years of Ophthalmology and Optometry experience and is finishing her Masters in Healthcare Administration.
Lynn oversees Clinical Operations including triage, clinical care, and surgical coordination for both cataract and oculop
Lynn Girdlestone, COA, OSA, OSC
Lynn joined the practice in Summer of 2021 She is a California native with 19 years of Ophthalmology and Optometry experience and is finishing her Masters in Healthcare Administration.
Lynn oversees Clinical Operations including triage, clinical care, and surgical coordination for both cataract and oculoplastic surgery. You will find her scheduling follow ups, documenting the exam with Dr. Swedberg, and assisting the surgeons in surgeries. She is our main point of contact for all things surgery-related!
She is currently working on her COE credential in addition to serving as Vision Director for both the Seattle/King County Clinic and The Special Olympics Opening Eyes Program. She also serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for Ophthalmic Professional Magazine.
When she is not in the office she can be found adventuring with family, riding her motorcycle, or volunteering in the community.
Katya Voronenko, COT, OSA

Justine is our newest ophthalmic technician who is transitioning from our admin team to our clinical team! You've seen her greeting patients and scheduling appointments, but will soon see her in the back office preparing patients for the doctors, assisting in surgeries, and assisting the surgical coordinator with the logistics of office-based surgery.
Justine is a graduate of Peninsula College and comes to us with six years of medical administrative experience. She recently moved back to Washington from Alaska and we are incredibly luck she joined the team!
Justine likes to read, listen to music, and hike when she is not serving our patients with excellent customer service.
Edward
Edward, a Certified Professional Coder, enjoys the intricacies of medical insurance. He oversees credentialing and carrier relations.
He is the main Point of Contact regarding insurance and billing! He loves to educate patients regarding their insurance and assist patients in understanding their benefits and responsibilities.
When he’s not at the office his interests are gaming, cooking and family.
Sarah
Sarah joined the practice in Spring 2023 and is our Front Office Lead! She coordinates care between our office, primary care, and subspecialists, schedules appointments and follow ups, and makes sure everything is in order to facilitate a smooth clinical experience for every patient.

Romelline
Romelline joined the practice in spring of 2024, and is our newest member of the team! She will greet you when you arrive, get you checked in and prepared for the clinical team, and will be one of the lovely voices you hear on the phone.

While masks are no longer required by the Department of Health our office is encouraging all staff and patients to don a face mask during flu season due to the proximity of staff to your face during your visit.
